Laudatio Vision & Mission

The Christian faith is centered not only the practice of ritual, but on developing a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. The Eucharist is the greatest gift of Christ to the Church, and through His sacramental presence He draws Her to Himself, inviting each Christian to enter into the mystery of the Trinity. Eucharistic adoration outside of Mass provides an opportunity to be “caught up in the love of a God we cannot see.” When music is introduced, it opens the heart to more fully to experience God’s love in the Blessed Sacrament. This kind of worship nourishes the heart, strengthening the individual for the challenges of Christian living. Laudatio is a diocesan ministry established to serve this vision: to renew the heart of the Church through Eucharistic praise & worship, bringing new life to the personal faith of those we serve in the Diocese Of Harrisburg. Through the various programs offered, Laudatio seeks to allow for true prayer experiences, facilitating conversion, and bringing Catholics closer to God.

Laudatio 2007-2008 Calendar of Events

Laudatio Ministry Events

The following ministry events are available to parishes and schools throughout the diocese:

Caelorum Adoration Services

The Caelorum service is the cornerstone of the Laudatio ministry. The format involves praise and worship, a short scripture reading and reflection, and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. All Laudatio events make use of a Caelorum service in some form. On the 1st Thursday of most months, a regular Caelorum service is held at the Cardinal Keeler Center in Harrisburg. This event serves as a “home base” for the ministry and provides an opportunity for anyone in the Diocese to experience the power of this kind of prayer experience each month.

Fire of Love Confirmation Rally

This retreat is a large-scale gathering that combines praise & worship music, talks, and adoration to provide powerful “catechesis of the heart” for Confirmandi in our diocese. This full-day annual retreat is offered at three separate locations: twice in the central region of the diocese, and once in the northern region. This is a great option for parish Confirmation programs who would like to provide a large-scale youth rally experience to their teens. This retreat may be offered on site to larger parishes where Laudatio can tailor the program to their specific needs.

Laudatio Coordinator - Martin Doman

Martin Doman is the Coordinator of Laudatio. Martin has been working as a Catholic musician, liturgical music minister, songwriter and worship leader for the past 15 years. He has released several recordings of Catholic praise and worship, and has led music for the Mount 2000 Youth Retreat and for the Steubenville Youth and Adult Conferences in Attleboro, MA, Denver, CO, Charleston, SC, and on-campus in Steubenville, OH. Martin’s music has also been featured on EWTN’s Life On The Rock and Backstage programs. Laudatio was formed out of a desire that Martin had to bring renewal to the Church through the power of music and the Eucharist. Martin is married and he and his wife Charlene have six children.

“Just as a branch cannot bear fruit on its own, unless it remains on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me. I am the vine, you are the branches, whoever remains in me and I in Him will bear much fruit, because without me you can do nothing.” John 15:4-5

“The worship of the Eucharist outside of the Mass is of inestimable value for the life of the Church. ... The Eucharist is a priceless treasure: by not only celebrating it but also by praying before it outside of Mass we are enabled to make contact with the very wellspring of grace” - JPII - On the Eucharist and Its Relationship to the Church

“The Church and the world have great need of Eucharistic worship. Jesus waits for us in this sacrament of Love. Let us be generous with our time in going to meet Him in adoration and contemplation that is full of faith ... May our adoration never cease.” - JPII Holy Thursday Letter to Priests, 1980
